Broads in Feb/March

Post by Martin Nevin » Thu Nov 04, 2021 10:43 am

Dear All,

Pretty new to pike fishing and I'm considering a trip to the Broads in late feb/early March before the closed season - due to my own availability.

My friend and I will fish from a boat for whatever we can at that time of year - hopeful of some good roach fishing at least.

Is it too late in the season to seriously fish for pike? I appreciate they may be spawning around then.
We won't be chasing monsters, just some bites on some cold days.

Very grateful for any advice,

Never been that time of year, but we're going down last week of February 2022 to tie in with a Wedding Anniversary. We'll fish regardless as it beats a day at work.

You'll see plenty of Pikers on the broads at that time of year ;)

I've fished there in Nov / Dec and Jan before now and I think it depends on the weather temp as to if the Pike will be on the main river or in the yards. A good starting bet would be to contact Budgie at Bass on-line in Horning for both boats and advice.
Always remember it's called Fishing not Catching.
