drop backs

Post by KevVines2218 » Sun Sep 15, 2019 11:50 am

I use et backbiter but I have had a few issues with braid that traps between the head of the indicator and does not register a drop back. Anyone else had this issue and how did they solve it?

I changed the clip to Solar PTFE clips, you could look at ss/ss clips too

The solar heads are better than Stainless ones but are a pig to adjust.

The RAD angling drop offs are far better with delicate adjustment. After far too many years of deadbait fishing making and using all different styles of line clips on Dropback indicators these are the best IMO. I added the RAD heads to the old fox swan neck arms with adjustable weight. Perfect for my Stillwater DB fishing.

Thanks for replies.
I did make up some different clips which were fine for drop backs & worked for cats but I went zander fishing on way back from conference & whilst they did work for a drop back I then had problems with a straight forward run whereby the zander could not pull the line from the clip.
Will the RAD fit ET backbiters which have a 2ba thread?
I was also looking at Pikepro drop offs at the conference which I think have a similar system to RADs but they did not think they would fit.
Any thoughts on RADs on rivers?

Whilst abit fiddly, I do like the Solar PTFE clips and have had no issue on rivers targeting pike or zander.

You could always cannibalism a the line gates and bobbins off Fox drop off's
