EA free fishing on river Severn at Ripple and Upton

Does anyone know if the much publicised free fishing that the EA made a song and dance about in previous years is still available?

I have contacted the EA and the response is useless - it just direct me to a web page that tells me to buy a fishing licence and not much else.

Failing that, does anyone know any stretches of the mid Severn (Worcester to Tewkesbury) that is accessible on a day ticket?

Does anyone on here work for the EA ? - their response to my enquiry was pathetic.
