What's it all about Barrie?

Post by JohnLucas1316 » Sat Feb 06, 2021 8:07 am

I think the Phil Wakeford article in Pikelines 171 is the best thing I have read in a very long time. Such amazing insight by an experienced angler.

In the piece, Phil speculates that most pike anglers are male... and of course, they overwhelmingly are. My daughter, however, is a pike angler; and a pretty good flyfisher too.

Unfortunately if you try to defend women in any way on the 'Men only' forum, (not this one) you may get called all the names under the sun, by people you have never even met; people who even had sensible conservations with you before you tried to defend 50.08% of the UK population!

You might be forgiven for thinking that these men never had a grandmother, mother, aunt, wife, daughter, niece or granddaughter; and yet they do, because they post about them fondly.

Its a shame, and pretty pathetic for Humanity, but worse still....for Angling.

If I saw aliens descending to take over Earth; I would advise them to go away for a few years, because we still have a few Neanderthals left.
(Although that is probably insulting to Neanderthals).

Sorry for the rant, I am obviously just 'attention seeking'.
