I challenged two 'anglers' on the Nene near Oundle a few years ago. They had six rods each, one pan landing net and bin liners ready to take the pike away in. When I spoke to them, they 'did not speak English.'
I phoned the Environment Agency, and was told that nobody could attend because there was only one bailiff working that day; and his 'patch' was from the Humber to the Thames!
