Is it one that the line goes through the centre of the drifter?Daz Harrison wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 2:15 pmHello everyone, ive just bought a Eddie turner drifter float which came without a boom, how do i set it up ?

It can, but you basically lifts free of the surface when it gets closer in. Its not a issue even when you have a fish on.Daz Harrison wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 6:09 pmyes mate, im pretty sure i just use it like a slider ? surely it going to cause a lot of drag reeling it inJason Skilton wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 10:22 amIs it one that the line goes through the centre of the drifter?Daz Harrison wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 2:15 pmHello everyone, ive just bought a Eddie turner drifter float which came without a boom, how do i set it up ?

Like Jason I make my own, but before that had used the fox one with the boom and never had tangles. Make sure your line is greased well and keep tension to the float in light changing winds especially with pet below. (Or use PP braid).
I use carbon tube for mine gluing a swivel to attach the bottom to the line. The top of tube above vane has a rubber top which I push a size 5 diamond swivel into. This is firm enough to hold on the cast and will pull out on setting the hooks. No fun with playing a pike at range via the float. Should be able to do that to the ET one.
